Day 13 - Thursday - 3/27/25 - Georgetown, Grand Cayman

It was another early morning getting up at 7 o'clock to have some breakfast before boarding a tender just after 8 AM. with our five star status we were the first to board what I believe was the second tender to the cruise board at Georgetown. Of course, being first on means you have to wait for the rest of the passengers to be boarded about 2025 minutes. Also, there was an a medical evacuation of a man and another person lost a cap overboard in the breeze. A crewmember retrieved it with a pole with a hook.

Once inside the port area, we quickly found a taxi vendor who was filling mini buses with transportation out to the seven Mile beach and other beaches that direction. The cost was six dollars per person. We could've taken the public bus for $2.50 per person, but this was convenient so we took the last two seats on the bus. It was a short drive out to the beach area and we ate our fair and walked down to the beach. We decided to rent a beach chair for the day and that was $25.

We donned our snorkeling gear and went out into the water to check it out. I saw a couple angel type fish near the shore and not much else until I spotted a turtle. The small turtle was nibbling away on the ocean grass floor of the ocean the water was really clear, but there was simply no reef for any other thing there to attract fish so we pack up our gear and gave our Lounge chair and shade to another couple that was on the sand behind us. We walk down the beach about a mile and found the governor speech. There was an empty bench. We can see out in the water that there was a dark area near the second Bowie (the most far out).  So I snorkel out there by myself while Angela watched our gear. Score!  It was a coral reef and there were all kinds of colorful fish and it was a pleasure snorkeling over the reef which I did for 15 to 20 minutes before returning to shore to allow Angela to have some time snorkeling.  She was out about a half an hour and came back thrilled with what she saw as well. We then packed up our gear and walked down the beach another mile and a half before finding a path out to the road where we hailed a city bus and wrote it back to the port area.

I did some shopping on our walk to the port and then survey the offerings within the war. Itself. There's nothing really we need so we made our way to the tender dock and boarded attender around one. Once again we had to wait for the tender to fill, but then we mowed off to the ship and we boarded the ship. Since we've been in saltwater, we took showers to clean the salt water off and hung our clothes up to dry. Probably won't be swimming for another week so we need to get them ready.

We then went up to deck nine after and I ordered a pizza from the New York pizza stand. It took about 30 minutes for the pizza to be delivered. In the meantime, I went into the buffet and picked up a couple pieces of fried chicken as an appetizer. We then sat on the back deck on the cover and waited for the tenders to return passengers to the ship. All board time was 230 and the captain came on for his departure announcement around two. Around 245. The ship rotated counterclockwise and we headed off to towards Cozumel. Just before us, the Celebrity Summit had departed, and it headed on its way on a return trip to Fort Lauderdale.

After the late lunch, I went into the Lido area where I could download pictures from our cameras and edited those for posting on social media. I spent most of the rest of my afternoon there while Angela was down on deck three practicing for a choir concert she is singing in.

After the Lido buffet open, she returned and we had a late buffet dinner. I enjoyed beef tenderloin and shrimp and potato chips and beans. They were quite good. Tonight's 730 and 9 o'clock entertainment was a female singer, Tricia Kelly.

Tomorrow, late morning, we are scheduled to arrive in Cozumel.
